WHAT IS INGENIEURS 2000

HISTORY

At the request of companies and professional organisations alike, Ingenieurs 2000 was established in 1991 in order to develop cooperative education in higher education to cover the growing need for qualified engineers with professional and practical experience in the field.

Partnerships were created between companies, engineering schools and Ingénieurs 2000 to develop cooperative education programmes to cover these ever increasing needs.

For almost 30 years Ingénieurs 2000 vision has been: « Talent grows through knowledge AND experience »

INGENIEURS 2000

Ingénieurs 2000 is a non-profit umbrella organisation in the Paris region, France that develops engineering and technician cooperative education programmes to Master’s level (EU level 7) in close cooperation with partner companies and engineering schools to ensure that the skills needed for innovation and growth sectors are catered for today and for the future. All our Master’s level courses are accredited by the CTI – Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs (French Engineering Board).

Thanks to our vast network of companies involved in our cooperative education programmes (over 1000 companies host our apprentices) and along with our 8 partnership schools renowned for their teaching quality and cutting edge specialisations, our students are at the centre of this exciting and demanding experience.

To ensure the continual relevance and quality of our programmes, Professional Skills Committees bring together companies and professional organisations for course definition and development.

For us, cooperative education programmes (apprenticeships) are the key to success, leading young people to increased independence and a strong skills set in their chosen field.
OUR COMMITMENTS

• Providing training that is relevant to the present and future needs of industry and business.
• Establishing well prepared programmes to ensure effective interaction between school and company: the vital component in cooperative education.
• Setting up technology platforms relevant to all our courses.

STRENGTHS OF OUR COOPERATIVE PROGRAMME FOR TODAY’S YOUTH

Cooperative education offers professional and academic training that equips young people for their future careers. We offer all the help and resources possible to help get the most out of this training and achieve professional goals.

2 MENTORS TO GUIDE EACH STUDENT

The employer designates a person in the company to be responsible for training: the professional mentor. Working with Ingénieurs 2000 the mentor ensures the acquisition of necessary skills for students to develop and graduate.

The school allocates an academic mentor from the teaching team who also follows and guides the student.

Consequently the progress and well-being is continually supervised by two mentors: at school and in company.

FOLLOW UP AND EVALUATION INVOLVING BOTH SCHOOL AND COMPANY

Throughout the course regular meetings are organized between the student and the mentors to keep up to date with developments and progress and remain in contact. This gives the student the opportunity to prepare for any challenging work situations and to optimize potential.

In each academic period, professionals from the chosen field of activity give courses relevant to professional experience and future careers. During company periods the student is given practical situations to deal with in order to acquire the necessary skills for their career.

Each year the student writes a report or research paper and delivers an oral presentation in front of a jury.

INGENIEURS 2000 SUPPORTS MANY EXTRA-CURRICULAR AND VOLUNTARY PROJECTS

Ingenieurs2000 believes that activities outside school and work are just as important and actively encourages and supports students who organise social activities and voluntary work. Special importance is given to inter-school events and humanitarian projects. Working with student unions in each school and bringing together students from different courses, supporting students during their time at school and helping organise projects which are both instructive and fun.

INTERNATIONAL

ENABLING THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERS

Companies today are aware of the importance of international connections and it is vital that all engineers be able to function successfully in environments which are very different, both culturally and professionally.

Great importance is attached to encouraging English communication skills: mother-tongue English teachers, effective learning methods, certain classes taught in English, opportunities to spend part of the cooperative education programme abroad; professional and/or academic.

In this way the student gains real experience working in the challenging situation of a foreign environment. Ingénieurs 2000 asks all companies that, whenever possible, to involve the student in international projects.

Ingénieurs 2000 is there to help make this international experience enriching and instructive.

To graduate as a qualified engineer the student needs to attain English level B2 (European Reference Framework).

Ingénieurs 2000 is actively involved in the building of partnerships with interested parties in all countries, both professional and academic, to increase the internationalisation of future engineers which is paramount to the skills development and multi-cultural awareness needed in today’s business world.

Our engineering apprentices are currently required to do part of their course in another country in order for them to develop their soft skills, learn different working practices, as well as increase their aptitude for change and a sense of responsibility.

Our international partners benefit from these future engineers for three months by taking in an enthusiastic, highly qualified apprentice with considerable work experience already under their belt.

These international partnerships take many forms and we are open to developing new ideas and projects with you to suit your engineering needs.
